  • What does the monthly accounting process look like?
    Our monthly accounting process starts with receiving your source documents. Our staff compiles the information and reports back to you with the following to help you take back control of your finances: Make monthly profit and loss statements Make monthly balance sheets Perform regular account reconciliation Offer advice based on your financial statements, tax planning, and your business’s situation We also include the following services: Business tax work Sales tax filings T4, T5, T4A slips Audit representation
  • When should I consider switching accounting solutions? How do I do it?
    Trust your gut. If you’re already thinking about leaving your current accounting firm, then you’re ready to move on.   • What accounting system do you use?
    We primarily use two systems: Xero and QuickBooks Online. That being said, we will work with other systems depending on your preferences and needs. However, depending on the software you use, your subscription fee may be included in your monthly accounting fee.
  • How do we send documents, receipts, and bills to you?
    We will set you up on Hubdoc (secured and encrypted portal) to collect all your bills, invoices and bank statements. But, if you are located near the Outaouais region, we have someone picking your hard copy folders with all of your business documents.
  • Do you use additional apps or tools?
    We use a considerable number of apps and tools; we typically assess your situation and recommend various tools in our scoping process but we could work with any online tool or app.
  • Who is Taxlogist?
    Taxlogist is a Canadian remote accounting firm. We provide a verity of accounting, bookkeeping. tax, Payroll advising and CFO services to companies across all of Canada.
  • Why should I pick Taxlogist over other firms?
    We have the right experience to help you fill any gap in your back office, we respond quickly, we do great quality work and we customize our workflows to fit to how you run your business.   • What cities do you serve?
    We are a fully remote accounting firm which means we work in all Canadian cities including Ottawa, Gatineau, Montreal, Toronto,Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Quebec, and Winnipeg. We can help you no matter where you are located.
  • Do you do onsite work?
    As a fully remote firm, we unfortunately do not do any onsite work. But, if you are located near the Outaouais region, we have someone picking your hard copy folders with all of your business documents.
  • What is your pricing proces?
    1) We first have an introductory call where we will discuss your current situation, issues, and concerns, we will then discuss your short- and long-term goals as well as the ideal outcomes; 2) We will then do a review of your books to assess the current condition and define the scope of work required to bring you to your ideal outcome; 3) Finally, we will have a follow up call where we will discuss a few ways of working together with prices for each option.
  • How long does it take?
    The entire process usually takes about 2-3 business days to fully assess what is best for you and your business although we could usually have some preliminary ideas after the initial call.
  • How much does it cost?
    We work with many companies of different sizes, different volumes, different workflows, different complexities and as such there is no one price fits all type of solution. We make sure that the solution we present matches your budget and is the best value for you and your specific business.
  • How do you provide support as a virtual firm ?
    We use emails. Phone calls, and Zoom video sessions.
  • How fast do you respond?
    Same or next day responses for most smaller issues or an acknowledgment and a timeline for more complex issues.
  • My previous accountant did not respond for days, how are you different?
    One of our main company values is to be with you at every step of the way and such, we always prioritize client requests, and we want to get them done right the first time.
  • Will you help me if I ever get audited?
    Yes. Audit representation is included in your monthly accounting fee. The only time that we would charge for audit representation is if the audit is for a time period during which you were not our client.
